Privacy Policy

TapLet keeps score for your matches on iPhone and Apple Watch, and on Android phones and Wear OS watches. We don't run our own servers, we don't have accounts, and we don't collect analytics, show ads or use AI. Your data stays with you and Apple on iPhone, or with you and Google on Android phones. When you share a match as a Story, the iPhone app downloads background photos from api.taplet.us, which is hosted by Cloudflare; like any website, Cloudflare sees your device's IP address. No match data is sent.
Match history
Your matches are stored on your devices and synced through your private iCloud database so they appear on your iPhone and Apple Watch. We can't see this data. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy. You can remove it anytime by deleting TapLet's data from iCloud in the Settings app.
Apple Health
If you allow it, TapLet reads your heart rate and active calories during a match to show them on screen, and saves each match as a workout in Apple Health. The match's calories and average heart rate are also kept with its match history in your iCloud, as described above. Health data is never sent to us or any third party, and is never used for advertising. You can change these permissions anytime in the Health app.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have TapLet Pro. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier created by the app, your purchase receipts and basic device information (such as app version, OS version and country). It does not receive your name, email or match data. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Android and Wear OS
On Android, TapLet works the same way, with Google services in place of Apple's:
- Match history is stored on your phone and backed up through Android Backup to your Google account, so it comes back on a new phone. TapLet only backs it up when your phone has a screen lock, which makes the backup end-to-end encrypted. History isn't synced between two Android phones.
- Your free match is counted in Google Block Store, so reinstalling the app doesn't reset it. The count is the only thing stored there.
- Your phone and watch send the live score, finished matches and settings to each other through the Wear OS Data Layer in Google Play services. It only connects your own devices.
- Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing, and RevenueCat checks whether you have TapLet Pro, as described above, with Google Play purchase tokens in place of Apple receipts.
- Health: if you allow it, the watch reads your heart rate and calories through Health Services during a match to show them on screen. The match's calories and average heart rate are kept with its match history, as described above. If you also allow it, the phone saves each match scored on the watch as an exercise session with its calories in Health Connect. TapLet doesn't read anything from Health Connect. Health data is never sent to us or any third party, and is never used for advertising. You can change these permissions anytime in your phone's or watch's settings. See the Google Privacy Policy.
TapLet on Android has no login, analytics, ads or AI either.
Children
TapLet doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
